What are mirrored lenses?
Mirrored sunglasses are sunglasses with a reflective optical coating (called a mirror coating or flash coating) on the outside of the lenses to make them appear like small mirrors. The lenses typically give the wearer's vision a brown or grey tint.
Prescription lenses can be mirrored. If you have a prescription you can ask the mirror coating to be applied to your prescribed lenses. You just need to select the color and intensity you desire. The intensity of the mirror depends on the base tone of the lens. A lens with high intensity is a very dark lens with a full mirror effect (you can not see the user's eyes). Low intensity mirrored lenses have a light color and a slight mirror effect (you can see a little through the lens in the eyes of the user).
When to wear mirrored lenses?
∼When you want to be discreet and allure a mistery. With full mirrored lenses, there's no way to know where or whom you're looking at.
∼When you want to be fashionable. The mirror effect on glasses is still a fashion accessory. You can combine frames with spectacular colors of the lenses. Currently there is a wide variety of aesthetically attractive mirrored treatments, with degrade or uniform tones in bold colors.
∼When the excess light bothers you. High intensity mirrored lenses reflect light, preventing it from reaching your eyes. Those of medium and low intensity decrease the amount of light that passes through them to the eyes. They also reduce glare by retaining the contrast. For that reason they are highly recommended in the practice of outdoor sports.
∼When you have a very high prescription and do not want your eyes to look magnified (bigger) or minified (smaller).
